Welcome to Summer at The Farm at North 40 Hills!
We are excited to welcome your child to our summer farm camp! Our goal is to provide a hands-on, educational, and fun experience in a safe and supportive environment. Please read through this handbook carefully so that we can ensure a smooth and enjoyable camp experience for your child.
DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP PROCEDURES:
Our goal is to keep car line smooth and efficient. Here are the steps to ensure the process goes smoothly:
Please arrive between 8:45–9:00 AM for drop-off and between 2:50–3:00 PM for pick-up.
Drop-off: Please pull into the gravel driveway and follow the signs down to the barn. You will drive to the barn and drop off in the gravel area behind the barn. Then, you can continue straight around the barn and back up to the driveway.
Pick-up: Display a sign with your child’s name clearly on your dashboard for quick identification.
Late Arrival: Please arrive on time so your child doesn’t miss any of the action-packed days.
Late Pick-up Fee: If you arrive after 3:15 PM, a fee of $15 will be charged to your account.
HEALTH AND SAFETY PROCEDURES:
We take the health and safety of your child very seriously:
If your child has a contagious illness, they must stay home for 24 hours after symptoms resolve.
In case of an injury, we will administer first aid and contact you if necessary.
Ticks & Mosquitoes: Our farm has plenty of nature, so tick and mosquito prevention is essential. We recommend applying insect repellent before arriving, and we will assist with reapplication as needed.
OUTDOOR CAMP EXPERIENCE:
Farm Camp is an outdoor adventure and will take place rain or shine. We have shelter available for rainy days and will take necessary precautions in severe weather.
Please note that this camp requires physical activity. Campers will be interacting with animals, hiking through the woods, and walking up and down hills, including a steep path to the creek. Children must be physically able to fully participate in these activities. Unfortunately, we do not have accommodations for special needs.
It is summer, and we will be outside all day. Please ensure your child comes prepared with:
Plenty of water (large insulated bottle recommended)
Sunscreen applied before arrival (send extra if needed for reapplication)
A sun hat or other protective gear
Lunch and a snack (both are required)
WHAT TO BRING:
Labeled Backpack: For personal belongings.
Water Bottle: Large, insulated, and non-spill with a valve for easy drinking.
Lunch & Snack: Packed in an insulated lunchbox with ice packs.
Change of Clothes: Including a pair of waterproof boots if possible.

We are not responsible for any lost items brought to camp, especially those on the "Do Not Bring" list.
WHAT NOT TO BRING:
Electronics, jewelry, or any items that can get lost or damaged.
Food restrictions: Please avoid sending candy, gum, or any foods that can cause allergic reactions.
SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
We foster positive behavior and emotional development through cooperation, respect, and empathy. We will address any issues that arise in a calm, constructive manner and work together with parents/guardians if needed.
EMERGENCY PROCEDURES:
In case of an emergency, here’s what you need to know:
Injury: If your child is injured, we will provide first aid and contact you for follow-up. In case of an emergency, we will call 911 if necessary.
Severe Weather: We will take shelter in the farmhouse if there is a storm.
Wildlife & Risks: We have animals and plants on the farm that can pose risks. We will teach campers to recognize and avoid them, including ticks, snakes, and poison ivy.
